Africa Tech Corps Project
Tech Entrepreneurs and Africa
The Africa Tech Corps (ATC) Project is a non-profit enterprise being created by AM Global Consulting. The ATC Project is looking to build a dynamic coalition of young U.S. and African tech entrepreneurs. The goal would be to improve tech-oriented skills on the ground in Africa and create new tech-focused micro-enterprises. The program would use U.S. networks to help finalize, protect, and market products worldwide. Financing provided would be as a micro-venture capital activity, with profits shared between ATC partners, local tele-centers and the ATC itself.
Challenge
The AM Global Consulting team with 20 years of experience in international business and international development has worked in some 70 countries around the world with special emphasis on Emerging Markets in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Their expertise are in project design, management and business development as well as private sector development, public-private partnership, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues. Their weakness was in brand strategy and marketing. From within the US, African countries are often ignored when it comes to both business and professional opportunities. AM Global needed a marketing strategy for the ATC Project to attain interest from potential volunteers, strategic partners and potential venture capitalists.
Solution
With work and travel experience in both East and Southern African, Cnvrgnc was enthusiastic about this project. We were able to take a unique approach to developing a marketing strategy that would highlight the incredible opportunities with the ATC Project, a groundbreaking program being pioneered by AM Global Consulting. Our unique perspective enabled us to bring to the table little known but highly valuable information about the various countries that would be part of this pilot program. In the marketing plan we highlighted the stability of the chosen countries as well as the economic opportunity each presented. The plan also focused on the possibility of developing intellectual property in this arena as well as knowledge of markets with over 1 billion consumers.
